unfsckd

FAQ

The questions you’d ask before you started.

What is unfsckd? +

A set of free diagnostic templates — .docx files you download, open in Google Docs, and fill in with your team. Each one takes a snapshot of something that probably needs attention: your security policy, your data processing agreements, your customer journey, your project delivery confidence, your governance posture. They’re structured diagnostic instruments, not blank worksheets.

Who is this for? +

Anyone responsible for delivering something that matters — and honest enough to want to know where it actually stands. Project managers, delivery leads, programme directors, COOs, CFOs, CISOs, board members, company secretaries, and the consultants brought in when things aren’t going to plan.

What’s free and what requires membership? +

Free, no signup: eight core diagnostic templates (01–07, 09). Free membership: Board-Level Governance Posture (08), Portfolio Delivery Confidence Review (10), all twelve Step Zero role-based intake forms, the Field Guide, the FAQ document, and the newsletter.

What happens to my data? +

Nothing. The templates are .docx files. Your answers stay in your Google Drive, or wherever you save them. Nothing is sent to unfsckd, no analytics, no tracking. The only data we collect is your email address when you join the free membership.

Do I need special software? +

No. The templates are standard .docx files. Open them in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, or anything that reads .docx. Fill them in. Save them wherever you normally keep documents.

Can I share these with my team? +

Yes. That’s the point. The free diagnostic templates are designed to be handed around independently. Give the same template to five people. Compare answers. The divergence IS the diagnostic.

How often should I run them? +

Quarterly is the minimum for ongoing governance. Monthly if you’re in active remediation. At project kick-off as a baseline. Run them monthly and you stop getting snapshots and start getting a trend line. That’s when it gets powerful.

What’s the 10-out-of-10 methodology? +

Every template asks: “If this were delivering at 10 out of 10, what would that actually look like?” Then: “Where are we now?” The gap between the two is the work. It’s safe, comparative, and forward-looking.

What if a diagnostic surfaces something serious? +

Get proper help. Talk to your PMO. Talk to your finance team. Talk to someone who carries professional indemnity insurance and knows your context. These templates are diagnostic starting points — not professional advice. Sometimes the best outcome is a well-evidenced decision to stop, rescope, and redirect.
